At Solas Signs, some of our most rewarding projects begin close to home. When our workshop neighbour Stu popped across the yard looking for new graphics for his studio, we were more than happy to help. Keeping things straightforward, we carried out a quick site visit to understand the space and get the project moving efficiently.

A Fully Glazed Frontage with Creative Potential

Studio Sollo is located at the end of the Union Canal in Fountainbridge, an area that blends modern architecture with creative businesses. The studio’s frontage is entirely glazed, presenting both a challenge and an opportunity. Large expanses of glass can feel stark or overly industrial if left untreated, but with the right approach, they become a powerful canvas for branding.

From the outset, it was clear that the solution needed to be bold, graphic, and scale-driven. Rather than small decals or minimal markings, the space called for large-scale custom vinyl prints stretched across the individual glass panes to anchor the studio visually and give it a strong presence from the canal-side walkway.
